Danone Water take the James Irlam challenge
The management team from Danone took to the track on a blustery summers day in the James Irlam
Truck Challenge at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire.
Each took their turn at the wheel of one of four James Irlam trucks to see how well they could manoeuvre
the 44 tonne vehicle around the track as well as reversing.
Some were exceptional however, there was also an award for the ‘Scariest Moment of the Day’ who had her passengers looking rather worried!
“The day was a great success and a huge benefit to both companies as it helps build the excellent
relationships between the two management teams” reported David Irlam, CEO.

A night with the ‘Stars’
A massive £170,000 was raised for ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ at this spectacular event, which stars many famous faces from Coronation Street and Granada TV. As usual, David Irlam made a great MC and his request for donations was rewarded by some unbelievable generosity.
Each year, the Charity take over 100 very poorly children to Lapland to have Xmas dinner with Santa and to secure this amazing expedition, James Irlam donated £50,000.
A huge thank you from all the Directors to everyone involved. |

Trailer Door Advertising
Welcome Break on Board: JIL have joined forces with Welcome Break in a new marketing
campaign utilising trailer doors as advertising space. What better way for Welcome Break to promote
the launch of their ‘Kids Eat Free’ promotion running in their service stations along all the motorway
network. The launch of this advertising coincided with the James Irlam Charity event at the Belfry
House Hotel also attended by Will Goodwin and Nick Wright from Welcome Break.
This style of advertising is proving more and more popular, particularly for James Irlam.
Keep on Moving: Eager to respond to customers requests for alternative advertising space, James
Irlam recently negotiated a 14 month contract with ITIS, Integrated Transport Information Services,
who provide all the traffic reports and safety campaigns for the motorway network.
40 of the James Irlam trailers now advertise the latest ‘Keep Moving’ campaign along with an
information number that drivers held up in traffic jams can call for advice, obviously when stopped
and in a safe position to do so!
See if you can spot any next time you’re on the road |
